Lead Quantitative Analyst
We are scaling up and expanding our portfolio of analysis products and are currently looking for a Lead Quantitative analyst that can spearhead the development of our predictive models and data platform.
As a Lead Quantitative Analyst you will play a central role in achieving our ambition of becoming a globally leading supplier of analytics and insights for the renewable energy sector. The right candidate has the drive, knowledge and creativity to work operationally while simultaneously scaling the team and coaching and guiding new team members. One of your first tasks will be the development of our data sources and models. You will be given the opportunity to shape the team you work with as well as the data strategy that drives the core of Greenfact's product development.
If you have a strong academic background, hands-on experience developing forecast models and algorithms, enjoy leadership and cooperating towards and ambitious goal then you are the person we are looking for.
You will report to the Head of Analysis, Marcus Ferdinand.
The location:
This role is based in Oslo, Norway or in Berlin, Germany with the flexibility to work remotely as part of our agile working policy.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the work of developing our forecasting and modelling platform for the renewable energy and low-carbon certificate markets. You will work through the entire value chain, from data exploration and model development to deployment and monitoring of product operations and performance.
- Collaborate closely with the Greenfact market analyst team to deliver insights and analytics to our customers.
- As of day 1 you will own and lead the implementation of our data strategy to continuously improve our products and services around data-driven, quantitative market models to predict market variables.
- Participate in product development by exploring possibilities stemming from new data sources and new methodology and aligning this with customer needs.
- Team-up with Greenfact’s Technology team to ensure a smooth data management and dataflow structure between the analysis platform and the analyst team.
- Coach and support, sharing your experience and knowledge with the other members of the team.
- Explain our analysis to clients and other market participants.
- Build a team of skilled quantitative analysts and data scientists. Greenfact will support you in further developing your leadership skills.
What we’re looking for:
- A Master’s degree or higher in a related field e.g. computer science, statistics or machine learning.
- Work experience in the energy industry or other relevant sectors.
- Proven track-record of successfully managing large-scale projects.
- Experience with and an interest in developing quantitative models.
- Prior leadership experience is a plus, candidates with experience for leading projects, teams or similar and are keen to develop as a leader are encouraged to apply.
- A strong team player, able to operate in an environment that is both demanding and multicultural.
- An analytical mindset and a proactive attitude, able to see opportunities to use statistical methods and machine learning to provide value for our clients.
- Good SW development practices and experience with relevant tools such as Python, R or similar.
